Privacy Policy
Effective July 6, 2026 · MingoBid, Sarasota, Florida · hello@mingobid.com
This Privacy Policy explains what MingoBid ("we") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to mingobid.com and the MingoBid mobile apps (the "Service").
1. What we collect
Account information: name, email address, phone number (optional), and password (stored hashed). If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name/email (or Apple's private relay address) and a provider identifier — never your Apple/Google password.
Payment information: handled by our payment processor. We store only a payment token, card brand, and last four digits — full card numbers never touch our servers once live payment processing is enabled.
Transaction data: your bids, wins, invoices, pickup bookings, and any shipping addresses you save.
Device data: a push-notification token for your device (if you allow notifications) and basic technical logs (IP address, timestamps) that come with operating any online service.
Waitlist data: if you joined our pre-launch waitlist (on the site or through a social-media form), we collected the email, name, phone, and ZIP you submitted.
2. How we use it
To run the auctions: process bids, charge invoices, schedule pickups, ship eligible items, and send transactional notifications (outbid, win, payment, pickup). To send marketing email you can unsubscribe from at any time. To prevent fraud, enforce our Terms, and meet tax and accounting obligations. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
3. Who we share it with
Service providers who help us operate, bound to use data only on our behalf: our payment processor (payment tokens and charges), our email provider (sending you email), our push-notification provider (delivering alerts), and our hosting provider (running the Service). Website analytics (Google Analytics, Meta Pixel) apply to mingobid.com marketing pages. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the Service and its users.
4. What other bidders see
Your bidding identity is pseudonymous to other users (e.g., "Bidder 3"). Your name, email, and contact details are never shown publicly.
5. Retention and deletion
You can update your details, cards, and addresses in your profile at any time, and deactivate your account in the app (Profile → Deactivate) or by emailing us. Deactivation disables your login and removes your devices from notifications. We retain transaction records (bids, invoices) as required for tax, accounting, and dispute purposes, then delete or anonymize them. To request deletion of everything we can lawfully delete, email hello@mingobid.com.
6. Your choices and rights
Push notifications: control them in your device settings. Marketing email: unsubscribe link in every message. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information — email us and we'll honor applicable requests within 45 days.
7. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards: encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, tokenized payments, and access controls. No online service can promise perfect security, but we design so that the most sensitive data (full card numbers) is never in our systems.
8. Children
The Service is for adults 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes
We'll update this policy as the Service evolves and reflect the date above. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email.
